Oh ok. I know what you are talking about now. Clams can be an effective way to filter nutrients from the water column but I have not tried it with eating clams. I would think that if a clam was suitable for life in the aquarium then it would be an effective nutrient reducer. I think the problem would be if you had too many of them and there was not enough food in the water column to sustain them and additional food would need to be added to keep a large colony alive. Not sure though. You will have to try it and let us know!
