First off, Happy New Year!!!
Can some ID this?
We've been trying to get him out of his hole for 2 days now for a good pic but it's impossible. What I have pictured is his head only, I did see him come out once only but no camera was on hand so I will describe as best I can.
It's completely black, the head has feelers like a shrimp(but it looks like there are more than one per hole??), the eyes seem to be like a hermit crab (eyes on a stick :P), total length is about 1.25" long and almost as the size of a pencil around. The end of the body is sort of like a shrimp tail also (I could be wrong about that since he's so fast). I couldn't see if it had short legs under the body but he very fast. I sort of drew what he would look like if he was out of his cave...
Any help would be good, thanks everyone!

Turns out it's a mantis shrimp and we got the little bugger, we had to do a partial tear down (1/4 tank) to take out his rock. Managed to entice him out, he's up for grabs to anyone who want to pay for shipping or pick him up. We're only charging one MILLION dollars, muha ha ha!, just kidding of course.
I measured him, he's exactly 1" long.
I can't really tell, is he the pounding or stabbing kind?

Well that is a smasher mantis. Love those little buggers. They have the coolest characters.
